Boomer Babes Plan to Re-Create Beach Party Atmosphere

A trip down memory lane is in store for the women who attend the First Annual Baby Boomer Girlfriends Spring Break April 18-20 in Daytona Beach.

 

Part of the weekend will include soaking up some sun, dancing and having fun on the beach just like they did in the Beach Party movies.  You remember, in the 1960’s, beach party movies were all the rave!  We grew up watching Annette Funicello, Frankie Avalon and the gang having a great time during their spring break and that’s what we plan to do---have a great time!

 

There will be some major differences between what you saw in the movies and what we plan to do.  Yes, we’re going to have fun with dancing and karaoke, but we’re not girls gone wild.  We are mature women over 40 who are coming together to celebrate aging, sisterhood and to be empowered.  

 

Women from California, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio, New Mexico, Maryland and North Carolina will connect with Florida women at the Hilton Oceanfront Resort for the three-day-affair.  The weekend will be filled with lots of activities including a Boomer Marketplace, Diva pageant, pamper me mini-spas, a Zumba fitness workout and an awards luncheon, featuring guest speaker baby boomer actress Bern Nadette Stanis, who played Thelma on the TV sitcom, Good Times. There will also be workshops on topics such as Caring for Aging Parents; Marketing Your Business; Shifting  your Career Gears, Money Matters, etc.

Having a mature women’s spring break is necessary because we spend 362 days out of the year taking care of husbands, children, and pets; dealing with obnoxious co-workers, traffic jams and nosey neighbors-----but for three days (April 18-20) we are going to throw caution to the wind in Daytona Beach and do something just for us!
