A little reading from It's Not About the Hair: And Other Certainties of Life & Cancer and a little chatting!

I'm in Orlando for a ginormous chaplains conference and for training to be a Red Cross Disaster chaplain or part of the "Spiritual Response Team."

I've been wanting to do this since September 11, 2001 when I was coincidently in Manhattan and ended up volunteering as a chaplain and blood bank worker for a week.

ANYway, the training is serious--two full days and lots of reading before hand. But I'm praying there will not be any future disasters to which I'll be deployed.

Since it's actually snowing right now in Seattle, I'm looking forward to a little warm weather in Orlando. I hope to see you at UrbanThink! bookstore! They are located at 325 E. Central Blvd.
