Hi everyone! At Covering Books, we want to begin a very, very loose organization of people who love to read and who are willing to share their favorites. New authors are often recommended by friends and family. So let's hear from you.

I highly recommend a Canadian author named Linwood Barclay. He writes mystery with a twist of comedic behavior in his characters. Linwood writes somewhat like Harlan Coben. So for all mystery fans out there, Linwood Barclay is an awesome writer. Some of his books are "No Time For Goodbye", "Fear The Worst ", "Too Close To Home" and 4 books in the Zack Walker series. These 4 are the ones that have the comedic twist. The more Zack does to prevent something or protect his family, the more terrible things happen. All these are good reads.

Right now I am reading The Little Gold Book of Yes Attitude by Gotimer.  It is one of those books that you read and you have a aha moment.  It makes you realize how much your life depends on your attitude and your self care.  He is really insightful.

Okay...are any of you reading the Twilight Series with your children, grandchildren, nieces, or any small, enthusiastic teenagers in your life? I read them before I made them a gift for my tweener niece. I loved the Harry Potter Series, but these are different. More of a love story. I'm certainly not in the target market, but she found them fascinating.

I took her to the Twilight movie as soon as it was out. It was a blast to watch not the movie, but the young squirming, giggling mass of teenage girls in the audience. They started twittering at the PG-13 rating screen and didn't stop until the ending credits. It was good I read the book because I didn't catch a lot of the dialogue. So cute.

I remember my older cousins taking me to see "Love Me Tender" at the Orpheum Theater in Madison, Wisconsin. Elvis was in it. And I watched, quite astonished, as my cousins squealed, sighed, and wept. They all but swooned when Elvis actually sang the title song. When the Beetles made their movies, I got it.

Different generations...same hormonal reactions. Life is good.

I just read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. Now one of my favorite books. I got such  a sense of what living in Brooklyn during  early 1900's was like.  It does deserve the title Classic.

Other favorites are Marley and Me by John Grogan what a touching story. I also have a lab but she is a black lab and a great dog too. Quiter and calmer then Marly.

Another one which is a little unusal and also a favorite is God on a Harly by Joan Brady. The main charater is named Joe  and he is sweet and compassionate and great.

I will be checking back. I like this group.

Elaine you sure are enjoying your life . Keep on having fun. iI will be looking for and reading one of your book.

    Take Care

    Wendy

    Hi E. K.!

I know you're too modest to recommend your own, but I saw you speak at a Red Hat Convention in Orlando and bought your book. I've been hooked ever since. I recommend the Flight Series...three books by E. K. Barber. Start with Flight Into Danger! (They are romantic suspense.)

I love to read and to write. My favorites are: The Power of Intention - Dr. Wayne Dyer, The Unmistakeable Touch of Grace - Cheryl Richardson, and A New Earth - Eckhart Tolle - ...notice a pattern here?? I also love a great novel - my two favorite fiction writers are Anne Rice and Stephen King.
As a new author, I was also wondering if there are any other authors, editors/publishers on here? Maybe we could ask some questions and discuss some of our favorite books at the same time?
    Blessings,
    Leigh
