Everyone advised against it, but Fred Ehman took his life savings and bought himself a record store. Not a CD store, a vinyl record store!
And in the era of iTunes, iPods and downloads, that would be like buying a flashbulb factory! But while other businesses around him have come and gone, Rock and Roll Heaven has grown in reputation to it's current status as one of the best vinyl album stores in the world!
Somehow, despite being located in Orlando, the theme park capital of the world, it's Rock and Roll Heaven that is the destination of choice for countless tourists and locals.
It happened not because Fred is a great businessman. It happened because Fred's passion is the music. He loves the records as much as any customer who comes in the store, and he loves his customers even more than the records.
Not only is he a relic in terms of believing in albums, he's also one of the few who still believes in customer service. Fred has proven that both "outdated" concepts still work their magic!
And after spending a few minutes with Fred you just might be tempted to dig out your old albums and dust off your old turntable.
Oh, yes! It just might be time to turn it on, place it on the platter, and turn it up again!

Posted 8:24am March 7th, 2009I have known Freddie and shopped at ROCK N ROLL HEAVEN for MANY years. I actually shopped there BEFORE Freddie bought it from Dave Bushey, back in the 70's (okay, I'm getting OLD!). My wife doesn't let me go there anymore because she knows I can disappear for a whole day in that store! I can get lost in the stacks of wax and all the cool stuff he has there. He even has an old jacket on display from my band "Ricky & Tightrope" from the 70's!....I don't even have one of THOSE! LOL!! I am still a fan of vinyl, and have held on to most of my old LPs from the day. It sounds warmer, richer, and there is something about that needle dropping on the groove that gets my blood pumping. THANK YOU FREDDIE for hanging in there with such a cool shop!....in an era of copycats, it's a ONE OF A KIND place.
