The world's oldest musician is closing in on 101, still Growing Bolder and still performing live!
Bill
Tapia, who is known as the Duke of Uke, played with Bing, Louis and
Fats and still has the wit and skill to delight audiences all across
America.
When we heard about this guy, we realized we had to get him on our
radio show. But how is a centenarian going to come across over the air.
Will he be able to hear us over the phone? Will he be so slow and
feeble he won't understand what's going on or be able to hold a
conversation? Not this guy!!!
He's a wonderful storyteller, an engaging individual who loves the attention, yet has been virtually ignored by the mainstream media. His life has been an incredible story.
He says he's the only musician alive who played in World War I. At the
age of 10, he created his own rendition of Stars and Stripes forever
that he played for the troops that first brought him popularity and
commercial success.
He bought his own ukulele in 1915 for 75 cents. In the 1930s her pioneered the Hawaiian Swing sound.
He tells Growing Bolder that he still attracts groupies on the road -- only he can't remember what to do with them!
He's a national treasure who you need to hear for yourself! Listen by
clicking here. And there are hundreds of other interviews just like Bill's, conversations with people who through their own examples are showing us what's possible for our own lives.
Take the time to check out GrowingBolder.com. It just might change your life!
