As I mentioned, my third act of each day, after getting coffee and reading the comics, is to peruse the BackPage of the newspaper for "News of the Weird."  Here are a few from last week's North County Times:

"Weinermobile crashes into Wisconsin home
MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis (AP) -- One southern Wisconsin homeowner is probably not in love with the Oscar Meyer wiener.
The famed hot dog's Wienermobile crashed Friday into the deck and garage of a home in Mount Pleasant, about 35 miles south of Milwaukee.
Police say the driver was trying to turn the Wienermobile around in the drivewau and thought she was moving in reverse, but instead jumped forward, hit the home, and got stuck in the garage."

"Least-competent criminals
Kendrick Pitts, 20, and his brother Marquise, 19, were arrested in May in the ladies room of a small office building in Fort Lauderdale, Fla, where they were hiding in stalls after being chased by police investigating a stolen truck.
Their ruse failed when they tried, using falsetto voices, to persuade the cops that the only occupants were women."
