  It rained the entire night last night. No light shows. No Daddy Big Boots (that's what Momma called thunder to ease childhood terrors). Just a steady, droning rain.  I felt relaxed and secure for some reason, and drifted easily into a calming sleep.

  That experience made me think of how CONSTANCY of something can instill controlling influences in our lives.  Some have negative impact, whereas others benefit.  However, regardless of the effect, we find ourselves dependent on a menu of those forces in order to conduct our lives with meaning and surety.  Without them, we wander, physically and psychically until we create or discover other 'anchors'.

  In June 2006, I discovered my constant music companion: George Strait.

  While flippin' channels on my newly acquired TV with cable, I chanced upon "Pure Country", starring George Strait.  That event is another humorous story, the result being that I was on the path to discovering a wonderous influence on my life.

  Since that time, I have exchanged posts with fellow fans, in which, among other things, we discussed the merits of George's accomplishments and career longevity.  Besides true vocal talent and his amazing ability to make every song and word meaningful and unique, George possesses that quality that gives an added benefit:  CONSTANCY. 

  He is dependable in every way.  When you think of George Strait, you know you won't be short changed.  You won't be left in a limbo state of disappointment because he gave less than he is capable.  He stretches artistically:  composing a bit and even offering a Spanish language song; but it is all with his signature QUALITY, musically and vocally.

Right as rain, that's George.
