New TV Season: Fresh or Fizzle

Turn on the TV, sit back, and watch the networks try to convince you that they're Growing Bolder!
Last season was a disaster. Just as some of the shows began to kick into gear, the writer's strike hit it like a blown engine. Most shows limped to the curb. Some just sat there, some were towed away.
Shows like Chuck and Pushing Daisies gained some critical acclaim, but have they been out of site too long to win back any attention?
Have old favorites like Lost run out of gas? Can anything happen on ER that will surprise anyone anymore? Have Simon and Paula irritated us one time too many to care about the next American Idol?
Add to that the proliferation of game and reality shows, and this shapes up to be one of the most unpredictable seasons ever.
