First Readthrough

Last night, we had our first readthrough for our new production; two half hour shows (When Shakespeare's Ladies Meet and The Actor's Nightmare). There is something so hopeful, so inspiring about the first readthrough. As director, I get to see people's first impressions of their characters. So much will happen between now and mid-February, when we go up.
I love first readthroughs.

I'm a new member here, I used to direct small community plays and do some acting in them as well. I understand the excitement of a first readthrough. My favorite time directing a play was to see the cast gel...from individuals to a community and to see the play begin to take on a life of it's own....very cool. Good luck with your play!
