Chapter 2

When Bobby Earl looked around, he was shocked to see his long lost twin brother, Cobby Furl, rising up from the floorboard. Bobby Earl hit the brakes and stopped in a nearby parking lot as he yelled:  “Where in the hell have you been for the last 15 years? And, why in the hell did you stick me with ma and Jesse Jeepers?” Before Cobby Furl could answer, Bobby Earl realized that Cobby Furl wasn’t alone – also in the floorboard were a very small man, only about 3 feet tall, and a Chihuahua wearing a purple rhinestone collar. He watched wide-eyed as the little man and the dog jumped up on the seat beside Cobby Furl. Suddenly, the little man began to sing . . .

"Hi, hi, Bobby Earl -
I’m a friend of Cobby Furl
Bunny Lou ain’t your girl
I plan to give that one a twirl.”

Back at the taxi station, Bunny Lou was getting cozy with the owner, Travis Toomer – she knew which side her bread was buttered on. She had had seven jobs in the last 4 months and she was tired of moving from job to job; plus, she wanted a career, and felt that Toomer Taxi was the place to get one. She also liked the name Bunny Lou Toomer – it had a certain ring to it.  That girl was looking for stability!!
