The Unknown (I wrote this)

A cold chill had cast itself over the lands during the previous hours. Many men can be seen pushing through the snow while pulling large and small sled carrying their supplies. Behind them can be seen a massive plain of frozen land covered in the white of soft fragile droplets converged into a piled up layer. They face the pinnacle of the unknown, the wild. Tall evergreen trees were scattered in a cluster of unimaginable size, a forest. What lies within can be considered to always be a mystery. Halting before the unknown, the first party went through the contents of the sleds hauled by their comrades. Withdrawing and standing stiff, the men are not hesitant in the slightest to aim and walk forward with their loaded armaments as the others trailed slowly behind. As the men cautiously paced themselves forward, there was surrounding the group absolutely nothing but the aura of silence aside from the bristling of the trees caused by the low hum of the wind.

Throughout the hour, that silence was maintained across the forest as the hunters pursued their game. At the same time, they are much more aware of the fact that they are not the only hunters amongst this cold and silent land… And that as easily as they had become the hunters, they can as easily become the hunted.

In the wild, the essence of humanity half becomes void. There is a time and a place for every skill exhibited by life, and with mankind serving as no exception. We as human beings always attempt to expand the reaches of technology in order to conquer nature and extinguish the power and domain of the wild. It is but a simple and prolonged desire, for when man believes that he is victorious with the wild tame as a dog bowing its head to the feet of the master. All must bow down and respect nature, for no matter how long and how hard man may put effort into taming the unknown, there will never be victory.
