Specialized services are offered to help families, friends and professionals...

Family Consultation:
Care planning, problem resolution, advice, emotional support and other assistance starts with meeting in the family's home.

Respite Care:
A break from the day-to-day demands of care paid for by grants through ICRC. In-home care, adult day care, and out-of-home options are available. (Families may have a share of cost depending on funding source.)

Legal/Financial Consultation:
Free one-time consultation with an attorney with special expertise in elder law and/or disability specialization practice.

Short-Term Counseling:
Individual sessions with a therapist to deal with emotional issues related to caregiving. Six sessions are offered with a share of cost.

Support Groups:
Referrals to existing support groups. ICRC offers specialized groups for particular populations and issues.

Education and Training:
Workshops, seminars, teleconferences and classes offer education to caregivers about the diseases and conditions they are dealing with, a place to learn new skills to manage care at home, reduce stress and find greater satisfaction in caregiving.

Caregiver Retreats:
Special get-away opportunities for caregivers to be pampered and to find renewed strength and resolve through the arts, meditation/relaxation, exercise and fellowship with other caregivers.

Other "Supplemental" Services:
ICRC has special funding to offer minor home repairs, assistive devices, homemaker and chore services, home safety improvements and other services to help families keep the care recipient at home.
