I had to bring this article to attention here on Growing Bolder. I guess I'm getting on in age and growing bolder by doing this, but I feel it needs to be addressed. After the many nursing home nightmares I've seen this article tells it like it is: (R)evolution in Alzheimer's Related Caregiving

Posted 1:58pm August 6th, 2009Rose, thank you so much for sharing this article. My mom's (and our family) Alzheimer's was a nightmare to her and to us. I am pleased to see that it is not alway so. Since I am so much like my mom there is a seed of fear that lurks in the back of my mind. But I have learned to take one day at a time.

Thanks for sharing this info about this great nursing facility. Just months ago I was dealing with those horror stories you mention. It's great to hear that some people have found a way to make the end-stages of Alzheimer's less horrible for some people.
