Sandwich Generation

Are you a parent? Do you have a parent? You may be approaching a new stage in your life - the sandwich generation. Caring for your family and one or more of your parents or in-laws. Some of the really lucky ones may even be club sandwich - grandchildren, children and parents. For so many of us, entry into this group is precipitated by a crisis. When that happens there is the need for a lot of information in a very short period of time. Wouldn't it be great if there was a way to get that information before it is "crisis mode?"
Now there is. On October 25th there will be an educational conference from Noon to 3:15pm featuring a keynote speaker offering "A Practical Approach to Living in the 'Club Sandwich' Generation, an exhibit hall with over 35 vendors and community organizations and break out sessions dealing with talking to your parents; legal, financial and insurance issues; hospice options; assisted living vs. skilled nursing; transition issues; Alzheimer's, home care and more.
The conference, "Honor Your Father and Mother, Without Losing Your Mind!", will take place at the Jewish Community Center in Maitland at 851 N. Maitland Avenue. To register or for more information please call 407 678 9363. This is a non-religious community event - ALL ARE WELCOME!
