I have been disabeled since 1996 with Chronic Pain Syndrome due to Arachnoiditis, which was caused by several back surgerys that caused scar tissue to form around my spinal cord nerves. This causes a lot of leg pain that never stops. I have a neuro stimulator implanted and take medication for the pain. I also have learned to accept my illness and work with it and not against it. I have a large group of friends and I try to have a very postive attitude. I am a member of HOPEKEEPERS a support Group for people living with chronic pain and chronic illness. I also love to paint with oils, read, ride my bike for a few miles a day and quilt when I can. I do everything in moderation! !!! I can only sit for 45minutes and then i need to move, I can walk for 20 min. stand still for 5 min. lay down  in one position for 1 hour and then I need to turn , . I think we all need to learn to listen to our bodies more and plan our days according to what it is trying to tell us. If you are hungry eat, thirsty, drink water, tired , sleep, God told us how to live and we forgot when we became so busy with making a living, and trying to survive. Patience and Hope are what I try to live my life by during at   this time in my journey.

    Hello Brenda,

I too have leg pain and I must take medication daily.  After reading your blog I have decided to get my bike out of the garage and use it.  Walk on my treadmill and thank you for such an interesting, inspiring blog.  Thank YOU!

    Brenda,

It sounds like you are very brave -- many people in your position might just give up, but not you!  I'm especially impressed by the fact that you ride the bike for a few miles every day.  That would make almost anyone sore.

Best of luck, and thanks for sharing your story on Growing Bolder!

    Katy
