Have you heard about the Growing Bolder Challenge yet? It's our year-long project designed to help you start making smarter choices and a commitment to your health and wellness.
Birthdays are a great time to take this pledge. It’s not just celebrating your birthday by blowing out candles
representing years gone by, it's celebrating by doing something to
demonstrate your commitment to a healthy lifestyle and to living a
bigger, bolder life.
The Growing Bolder Challenge is a handshake with
yourself in which you agree to make this the year you improve your
health and fitness.
The challenge was inspired, in part, by Gary Sain, one the top tourism executives in the world. To celebrate his 61st birthday, he decided to do something a bit unusual -- he did 1,200 push-ups in one day! Check him out in action:
At the end of this month, I'm facing a bit of a milestone birthday myself -- 35. I've been trying to think what I can do to mark this occasion. I don't think I'll be doing 35 push-ups (I couldn't even do 3.5!). I thought about perhaps running 3.5 miles, but that doesn't seem like enough of a challenge.
So, help me come up with my challenge! What ideas do you have for something that will help me get my health in order. I may be still holding onto some pesky post-baby weight. And that baby is almost 4! And lately, I've been searching for something that will make me want to jump out of bed in the morning and work up a sweat. My husband just completed his third marathon, but I know running isn't my thing.
