Nationalized Health Care = Red Tape Nightmare

The idea of a national health care plan is ridiculous.

Since the 2000 election, I've had less and less interest in politics.  Al Gore believes to this day that Bush stole the election.  Yet the Democrats also think Bush was stupid.  If Bush was so dumb, how did he beat your best guy (Gore and Kerry) twice?

The, Bush invades Iraq with the majority support of Congress.  Afterwards however, the Democrats argued that Bush lied to them.  If he stole the election from you, why did you believe he was telling the truth about the war.

Back at home, Bush and the Dems proved to me that health care won't work in this country when, after Katrina, we could not deliver water to people in New Orleans.  We can deliver a missile to within a few feet of anyone in the Middle East, but getting Aquafina to the Superdome proved impossible.

Then the economy tanks.  Who steps in?  The U.S. Government (Bush and Obama)  I'm not impressed.  Since Obama came in, there are reports that we're losing the edge in Afghanistan.  We weren't losing under Bush.  What happened?  The economy was supposed to turn around.  What happened?  Everywhere I look, things in this country that are touched by Government are falling apart.

Great example - Disney.  Disney has a mass transit system unlike any other just a few miles down the road from Orlando.  Yet government here can't figure out a good mass transit system for Orlando.  Why not?  Red tape.  Seems Mickey Mouse performs just fine without the red tape of the U.S. Government.

I don't want red tape on my health care. I  don't want to deal with government workers in a hospital.  I want less of these government workers and more capitalist solutions to the problems of health care.  We can, as a nation, do this without the red tape.

People need to be responsible for themselves - and that includes healthcare.  If you want to know how to take care of your body and live a healthy and fit lifestyle - let me know.  I'll do all I can to help you.  After all - I'm not working in government and you'll likely need a lot less medicine if you're in great shape!

Sirman,  I don't need to follow suit just because we don't have such a plan.  We can create something that blows the doors off those other countries.

Or perhaps you'd like me to come into your house and tell you how to run your life because you need to be more like me?  Doubtful.  I don't need to be like France, England, Canada, etc.

We're not in the dark ages.  We lead they world in medical advancements thanks to our current system.  But that's gonna end when the government steps in and turns our hospitals in post offices.   Obama will likely get his way.  He's likely going to shove this down our throats and force us into socialism.  One day however, the pendulum will swing the other way.

I agree that most things the government does, they only make worse.  In fact, I can't think of anything that they've ever improved.

That is not to prove that Bush didn't lie.  Nor is it proof that the USA should not have a health care plan that provides for all legal Americans.

The USA stands alone among all of the nations in the world that have a developed economy and a freely-elected government that does NOT have such a plan.

Having a health care plan doesn't mean that the government will be in your doctor's office.  It does mean that the health industry may have to change the way they make their profits.  But it's time the USA emerged from the medical dark ages.

Yes, I was just thinking about how they work for us in Washington and they treat this as if we work for them.  I don't want them anywhere near my Drs. office either!  Thanks for the comment!

Think about it from this point of view.....When the US government took over the Mustang ranch in Nevada........for tax evasion....They ran it for a while....it went bankrupt......when they run an established HOUSE of ill repute into the ground....I don't want them running my Dr. office.......
