Flax Seed

My hubby Bill and I have been turned on to Flax seed and flax seed oil. There are all kinds of great cereals, chips and trail mix bars out there.  After my husband's bout with cancer last year we changed our eating habits 160 degrees.  I know our eating habits probably didn't cause his cancer, but we needed a change.  And change we did.  I quit drinking sodas, eating chocolate, pizza, sweets and you get what I'm saying.  Bill never drank sodas, ate chocolate, or had a lot of sweets. Maybe a few times in a year.  He was always a beans, meat and potato man.  Now what ever we eat, we incorperate flax into it. 

The last time I had my cholesterol checked it was 213.  Bad cholesterol was 153.  I had to go back after about a month or so to have it rechecked.  It was 168.  Bad was 98.  My doctor was so proud.  She told me to keep up what ever I was doing.  I give credit to the Flax.  Bill orders 10 lb. bags off the internet and grinds them and we sprinkle them on salads, sandwishes and lots of other foods.

I say add flax to your diet.  It will not hurt and it just might help.

    Hi, Ann - I, too, started using flaxseed a couple of months ago - I take a tablet daily. The last time I had my cholesterol checked, it was down 30 points (bad down 18). The flaxseed, plus eating better, has really helped me.
