Water B-logged; "Everything you ever wanted to know( about Water/Purification) but were afraid to ask!” An Overview:

Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink!”*:

 {*From “Song of the Ancient Mariner”.}

Greetings: This is the first of what could be an ongoing series of “Blogs”; all aimed at telling you, the public, some things they really need to be aware of; & that many others (possibly fearing retaliation from the “Deep Pockets” people in the Pharma & Chem industries!) are studiously shying away from admitting to.  The First parts will deal with our organization’s priority “Mission”, which is: To significantly augment both amounts & convenient availability of truly pure, fully drinkable "potable" water; to those most in need/at risk, as well as the general public. (All too many of whom are now obliged to spend precious dwindling incomes on either bottled water or “after-taste” masking additives, because their municipal system water is too highly chlorinated to be truly drinkable!).

The Second parts will deal with a little “scarier” aspect of the broader WATER issue. And that is, most simply and frankly stated, ALL THE REASONS THAT HUMANS EVERYWHERE SHOULD NO LONGER BE INGESTING CHLORINATED WATER!!  In this regard, we strongly suspect that some of the things we’re going to be telling you about in general, and alerting you to specifically, will “stretch your credulity”.  In this regard, we fully expect there will be those that, to assuage their own fears, will be instantly crying “Fear Mongering”.  So, to calm the waters for those turbulent souls, the second parts of this blog MUST be replete with verifiable Source Reference and credible Health/Medical Technical support information. {NB: Such things tend to make the usually “free wheeling” blog style a little on the “stodgy” side; but I believe I can assure you, the valuable – possibly even Health/Life Saving – information provided, will be well worth the effort of “plowing through” such material!}

  In this first entry, I’ll try to update all of you who don’t read or listen a lot to what’s going on in the world.  The following is just a very brief summation on the extent of the problem we now face, relative to World Water Supplies:

  • In large segments of the world, ANY type/condition “raw” water has become so scarce it costs more that fuel!  In other parts – particularly “Sahel” regions of North Africa – lack of rainfall causes thousands of hectares yearly, of once fertile grazing/growing land, to revert to desert.
  • In many country districts of Sub-Sahara Africa, global weather patterns have shifted so much they can no longer depend on normal periodic rainfalls, which has great negative impacts on growing/crop yields. Plus, in usually dry months, these areas are now experiencing heavy, cropland damaging flooding (in turn polluting what little household use water otherwise normally available!).
  • In many – perhaps even a majority – of the world’s developing nations, an average of 75% of families must still rely on “traditional” raw water sources!  Family members – often their school-age children, must miss attending classes & walk miles to obtain even non-purified water.

  • In these same countries, Forty Percent (40%), and even greater, of ALL Mortality/Morbidity cases are directly related to Water-borne diseases.

  • And finally, what’s worse: Even with all the activity now going on in developing countries - to bring safe, potable water to those most in need/at risk - these horrible annual statics prevail!  Babies/Infants 5 and under are most at risk – still dying at a rate of 2.2/Million annually! – from just a single form of the many water-borne disease killers.  Infants almost unanimously refuse Chlorinated water; & so wind up being given “raw” water, simply to keep them hydrated (and quiet!).  [NB: The next article in our blog will reveal some of the basic reasons that WHO, UNICEF - and others most conversant with these persistent problems and needs – have now performed, and thereby provided, some hard-nosed research as to causes of/major defects in how we’ve been dealing with these issues in the past.  1. {To be Continued…}
