Never too old

To begin with, I was writing this blog right after Friday the 13th.  I thought I posted it, but apparently I didn't hit the submit button or was interrupted.  Anyway, on Friday the 13th I was washing dishes and was rinsing my last pot when the handle on the faucet broke off.  I just couldn't believe it.  Since my husband has been unable to do anything since he has been having muscle spasms in his back and has been out of commission for the past 2 months, I was beside myself wondering how I would get a new faucet for my sink put in.  But then I remembered.  I have seen them do it many times on HGTV and DIY TV, I'll just do it myself.
 
So I headed down town and got a new faucet.  After arriving back home, I took everything out of the box and got out the directions.  It wasn't long before my husband was telling me what I should be doing and how to do it.  It's a man thing.  I got the wrenches to undo the bolts, but they were so tight that I couldn't budge them.  My daughter said she would help.  So we both got under the sink. First we sprayed the bolts with WD40.  I held one wrench steady and she turned with the other.  It took us a while, but we finally got the old faucet off and put on the new one. 

Then the the big PROBLEM, the water hoses didn't reach to the new fittings. Another day without water in the kitchen and another trip to town. The moral of the story.....at 61 I did my first plumbing job and probably my last.  That's a girl thing.
