Duck, Duck...Harley

There are a lot of different things that can go into a "perfect" motorcycle ride--weather, scenery, destination, the company you're with.  But it was a pair of absolutely brazen ducks raiding our picnic lunch by the side of a lake in Wisconsin that put the "perfect" into a warm fall ride, and will keep me going on laughter through the long cold winter up here.

With the temps now dipping into the teens overnight, I'm already in winter mode.  We don't even have snow on the ground yet and I'm already mourning the fact I no longer have a car with four-wheel drive.  But on one gloriously warm November day, we took a ride in the country just to grasp one last gorgeous sunny day with the bike.  Little did we know when we sat down to break into our lunches that we'd make the acquaintance of two mallard hens who didn't know the meaning of the word "No."

For the rest of our lunch, we had ducks in our laps, ducks under our elbows, ducks swimming under our feet, ducks trying to sneak potato chips from our laps.  Just goes to show you how the unexpected can be the most fun of all.  And for "the rest of the story," turn to "Two Hens and a Harley."

As we rode home, I counted our blessings that this was a flyweight pair of ducks instead of some honkin' big Canada geese!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story....and 'the rest of the story'.  It would have been wonderful to have also seen a picture or two of the dynamic duo of ducks along with it.  (Actually, a video would have really been the way to go!)  Oh, well.  Who could have known that such a Kodak moment would have presented itself?

Having gone to your blogger page, I also read a couple of your other stories.  I trust that you got away from the last fair without bringing home a new bunny!

Stay warm and have a beautiful Christmas.

    Ginger!
