If you have a vintage radio or know anyone who does you're going to want to remember Dennis G. Williams. He is one of a very few people you can turn to for expert, full-time antique radio repair and restoration. He has four decades of experience at his craft and his business, Radio Relics has a reputation for quality, honesty and integrity that spreads clear across the country. The only thing more interesting than what he does for a living, is who he is as a person.
His path in life was paved by pain and loss. By the time he was 12 he had lost both his parents, one to a car accident and one who was killed on the job. Dennis did the best he could to deal with it. It seemed the one constant in his life was his bedside radio. Like many young boys he became fascinated by taking things apart and unlike many young boys he found he had an aptitude for putting them back together again!
He continued to dabble in antique radio repair, but after serving in the military Dennis became a photographer. It was a job he greatly enjoyed, but it was a job nevertheless. Driving to work one day he was involved in a terrible car accident. After what happened to his mother, he realized that he would only have one chance in life to live his dream and follow his passion. He dedicated himself to the preservation and restoration of vintage and antique radios, old televisions, phonographs and anything electrical that he thought he could fix. Dennis had found his bliss!
And collectors across the country found Dennis! Word of mouth spread quickly about this talented, dedicated repair expert in Orlando, FL. Packaged began to show up at his doorstep, and his store, Radio Relics quickly filled with old sets, parts and manuals.
Word of mouth built his business and of all ironies, the internet solidified it! By establishing radiorelics.com, Dennis was as close as a Google search to anyone in need of his services. He is the founding member of the Florida Antique Wireless Group which has gained recognition nationwide for it's efforts to connect collectors to sellers, hold regional ham-fests and bring those with a common appreciation together.
If you have questions, need advice or service, or just wish to learn more, feel free to contact Dennis at oldradio@cfl.rr.com or simply click here! And I think you'll enjoy the video below:
