One never knows who they are going to meet, but I'm sure happy to have met Leroy. I posted a new blog, "Leroy, A Lifetime of Giving" He has given thousands of birdhouses to St. Jude Children's Hospital. It is a little long, so please read more about Leroy here.    http://eldergeneration.net

What a wonderful story. Amazing how just one individual can touch the lives of so many and bring so much joy.

This is lovely. I guess it really is true that life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get when, or until, you open the box.

You are a sweetie for opening your heart to Leroy and thank you for sharing your story.

    Miss Dazey,

Thank you for this story, but more importantly for mentioning St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

I have been doing fundraisers for St. Jude for approx. 14 years now and the 16th Annual Fundraiser is coming up on Nov. 8th.  It's held at the Rosen Plaza on International Dr. in Orlando.  The doors open at 1:00pm and the dinner and show are from 2:00 to 6:00pm.  The show includes entertainers such as myself, PJ Leary and the Las Vegas Sounds, and this year there will be a group doing a tribute to Disco's John Travolta and the Bee Gees, along with a comedian.  We also have a casino that's being brought back by popular demand!  If anyone out there is interested in attending, please contact me for tickets and more information.  I'm proud to say that 100% of the proceeds are sent to St. Jude; no entertainers are paid for their performance and only the actual costs involved in the production of the fundraiser are deducted from the gross funds.

If you can't attend, or would like to just donate to the fundraiser, let me know that and I'll tell you where to send your donations.

Special thanks to Leroy and ALL who so generously give to St. Jude.  God bless you.

    Ginger!
