As any parent knows, rationality goes right out the window when we're sitting by the bedside of one of our "cubs" who's not feeling well.  Whether it's measles or mumps or chicken pox or flu or a broken leg, we know that while we can't fight germs or make bones heal faster, we're still going to keep sitting there like a guardian at the gate to ward off the bad stuff.  For as long as it takes.

I just riffed on the subject in "Tiger Beat" and would love to share it with you.  A good friend of mine, who also has a handful of kids, read it and thought we all belong to the "Mother Tiger Club."
