Our New Mattress

One of my husband's friends recently told him that he's been sleeping on an air mattress for two years and loves it.  So one day, without asking my opinion, my husband thought it would be a good idea to buy an air mattress to replace our very old Simmons Beautyrest Pillow Top mattress.  He gave me the impression that if I didn't like it, we'd get a regular mattress.

The first night we slept on the air mattress, I didn't like how the edges were rounded and gave me the sensation I could roll off the bed at any moment.  My husband responded by telling me his back felt good for a change.

Then there was the night I temporarily forgot we had the air mattress.  I was very tired and in a hurry to get into bed.  I clumsily flopped down onto the mattress and nearly catapulted my husband to the ceiling.

This afternoon I was feeling kind of tired and decided to take a nap.  The room was unusually chilly. I was lying on my back, covered with 2 flannel comforters; and my back still felt ice cold the entire time.  I began to imagine I was going to start suffering from hypothermia, so I decided to get up and forgo the nap.

Tonight I think we'll place a comforter over the sheet before we lie down.  Brrrrrr!!!

Beautyrest Pillow Top sounded better though... What happens if the thing gets punctured, won't it be a flying mattress  ?

I knew a woman who had an air mattress. She filled it with helium and swore it made her feel lighter, but I think she got it confused with being a light sleeper. I didn't want to argue with her because it was way too heavy for me.
