Royal Palm Literary Awards!!

As the rain and cold envelops my house this evening, I think it would have been lovely to actually get to the Florida Writers Association 2009 conference in Orlando this past weekend and walked down the red carpet to pick up a couple of awards in the Royal Palm Literary Awards contest of the Florida Writers Association, but...
 
AT LEAST I GOT 'EM!! 

Just yesterday I learned that my collection of essays, "Running with Stilettos: Living a Balanced Life in Dangerous Shoes," picked up a second place award this past Saturday night in the "Book-length non-fiction published autobiography" category, and the first essay I ever wrote for MORE.com about going to law school at forty and eventually arguing a case to the state supreme court took second place in the "Short Nonfiction--published creative nonfiction" category.  Which then got the essay featured once more on the MORE.com website today.
 
Woo hoo!   I hope the good news keeps coming!
