Just another WordPress site
Hey, folks!
I'm looking for people who decided to take a risk - or just impulsively seized the moment. I want to talk to people who did something they'd never done, AFTER they became "experienced citizens." Could be simple, like the back dive I did in my 50th summer because my friend Ava, then 11, looked up at me and said, "Patti, you can do this. And it's time." At that moment, I realized it was, indeeed time and that if I didn't do it that very moment, I would never ever experience a backdive. ("It not now, when?") That also started my list, long before the Bucket List and without the sense of impending doom breathing down my neck. I decided to see how many things I could add to my After 50 list. (So far, learning to sail, surf, writing a book, riding my horse in a 25-mile race. And the list will, hopefully get much much longer over the next 50 or so years.)
So what'd you face with the realization it was a Nike moment and you must Just Do It? What did you reach out and seize with both hands? What did you decide to learn, to try, to achieve? When did you look into the eyes of an 11-year-old or into the mirror and understand with every fiber of your being that "It's Time"? Contact me, I'd love to talk to you. I'm collecting interviews for a column, which will hopefully become a book.
Hope this comes through OK. I'm new to blogging. Oh, oh!! Something else for the list!

This sounds like a very fun and ambitious project! There are so many stories out here of boomers doing the unthinkable--the daring. Good luck with your project!
