I am slowing making my way through some of the most interesting videos, audios, blogs, etc on gb. One thing that has impressed me are the many, many stories about volunteering. Bravo to you all. I used the subject of volunteering on my blog, Seniors Online Supporters.  To read the post entitled "Volunteering, A Gift That Keeps On Giving" please click here.

Thanks for the comment. One thing about volunteering is there are so many places and areas of interest to choose from. I admire you for working in the nursing home. I could never do that.

Bruce likes working in the gift shop area of the hospital because he is not involved with patients. Other volunteers want to do something positive for patients.

I keep thinking I can find a volunteer opportunity using my computer at home. Know of any?

Miss Dazey-I couldn't agree with you more about volunteering is the gift that keeps on giving. I am an active volunteer through work and unless you have done it, you can't imagine the feeling deep inside that you feel when you do it and the feeling of those who you volunteer to help. There are no words to adequetely describe them. It is the most rewarding thing a person can do and it's good to see so many more people volunteering. I hope to involve my kids this year to help out at a nursing home where there are so many people who have no one. No visitors, no family, no cards, just sometimes loneliness. I was inspired by Sassy and look forward to volunteering.
