If you have read any of my posts here on growing Bolder you might notice that many of them don’t quite fit the mold and mission of Growing Bolder, which is to make our older years the very best they can be. There is a reason for that. What I post here are reposts from my own web site, www.latenightmusings.com. I thought the readers of Growing Bolder might sometimes enjoy a change in pace from the more typical fare offered here.
My own blog, which has been in existence for about 4 years has a slightly different premise. I am seventy-five so what I write is from the viewpoint of someone who has lived for seven and a half decades (God that sounds like forever). As I explained in the forward to my book, Late Night Musings (book and Kindle available at Amazon.com):
“The wise know that life is not a singular thing; it has many facets. There is family and friends as well as life and death, good and bad, thoughtful and thoughtless, serious and frivolous. However, the rush of daily life doesn’t allow much time to sit back and really think about such matters.
Now past his working years, the author reflects on life and has captured his findings in thoughtful essays. These essays, now not available online, are a collection of some of the best offerings from the author’s blog, latenightmusings.com. In them the author considers the wonders of life and well as its trials and tribulations. The words, ideas, and thoughts may not seem profound or novel at first glance, but once read, they strike home. In some cases the musings suggest conclusions, while in others they simply recognize that living life doesn’t mean there are good answers for all we experience.”
So if I fail to offer you what you expect to read here, I apologize. For all others - for those both living in seniordom and those who can see it in their future, I hope you enjoy. And just perhaps someone much younger might stumble upon one of my posts and gain some insight into how to avoid the pitfalls of life and take advantage of some of the lessons learned.
I guess I’m a free range chicken and a few of my eggs (musings) are dropped in the Growing Bolder fields for you. In any event, thank you for stopping by and taking a few minutes to read this musing. Cluck, cluck… CLUCK!
