Yippee!! Here Comes the Rain!

I know it's not often that we celebrate a thunderstorm, but after weeks of desperately dry weather in Central Florida, every little drop counts!

And we got more than a few drops this morning, outside of Orlando.  As soon as we all heard the first crash of thunder, we started smiling.  I think most of us have lawns that are dying, and ponds that are nearly dry.

The rain is such a soothing sound, too ... I love waking up to rainstorms, just sitting in bed hearing the drops hit the roof.  And I have great memories of running outside trying to dodge raindrops with my younger brother -- my mom had sent us outside toward the end of a chicken pox outbreak in my house (think she needed a break?) and it was the perfect prescription for easing the itch!

Today, Jason even ran outside and got some great shots of the wet stuff coming down -- just watch and listen ... isn't it relaxing?  Then go outside and do a rain dance, to send some more wet weather my way.
