The Face

Someone on another site asked me how I found Terry.  It's harder, it seems, when we're older, and she was unsure of how to start. Terry and I met online.  I know, a lot of people still think online dating is dangerous, desperate, and maybe even demented!  But I was divorced, the company I'd worked at for 12 years shut down, and I had nothing but time.  I was making new friends, dating a bit, but wasn't finding what I wanted.  I ended up being the moderator for a Yahoo Chat Group (anyone remember those??) and spent hours each day with online friends.  I was seeing people, but still looking, so I went to Yahoo Personals and saw this face--BIG smile, 'Roy Rogers' eyes, and he was holding this adorable toddler who clearly was crazy about him. His profile was great (aren't they all, online?) Something just hit me, and stuck.  I couldn't afford to join another site, and he wasn't a paid member either, so I couldn't even write him.  I kept dating, thinking, since The Face lived in a tiny town near me, if we were meant to meet, we would.  I'd go shop there, eat there, buy gas there, always on the lookout for The Face.  I was determined--if it was meant to be, it would be.  Sure enough, one night in the chatroom, a newbie came in.  He was charming without being flirtatious, funny, and showed some good signs!  We chatted a bit, he left...he came back. A few nights later, we PM'd, and he sent me his picture...THE FACE!!  I about fell out of my chair!  We met the next week (both had plans, and I wasn't going to rush this one!!)  From our first hug, we've been together!  The Face now has a name...and I share it!
