After reading this I hope you won't think I am a total nut....The idea was good but my son proved it wasn't the best idea I ever had....
When my son was 18months old he exibited the desire to go potty like daddy, standing up in front of the toilet.
So I got an old phone book and duct taped it up and he used it to get himself up and above the rim of the bowl.
He did quite well going but the only thing we needed to work on was the aim. He thought it was his personal sprinkler system and nothing was safe within his aim.
I tried bribing him, hollering, time outs,no playing outside, you name it I tride it to no avail.
One morning I was at my witts end and all of a sudden I got a brain storm.
I decided to float Cheerie-O"s in the toilet bowl and make a game out of sinking them... It sounded like a good idea........ So I tried it and to my suprise he loved it and I no longer had to mop and wipe down his mishaps.
A few weeks went by and everything was going smooth.......until I walked into my dining room and saw my son going wewe in his bowl of Cherrie-o"s
He Said" Look Mommy! look at all the ones I am sinking for you."
My first reaction was to yell at him...but instead I just started laughing untill I had tears running down my face.
To this day every time I eat a bowl of them I chuckle and it does qualify as an embarrassing story to tell his future girlfriends.
The sinking and aiming does work...but I beg you please serve another brand for them to eat.
Good Luck on your potty training and remember Live And Learn!!!
Sassy
