What a fitting place to tell of my third book: "Connected" how the stroke of a computer key changed a life.
As a caregiver full of despair and loneliness, Rose Lamatt enters a chat room on the Internet for the first time. She finds a different world than the one she's used to. Night after night, she signs into the same chat room, meeting people who listen to her, people who are passionate, loving, and at times just as depressed as she is. At times she lives her life through these online friends. They save her from the everyday trials of caregiving. They are there each night keeping her connected to someone, something, not feeling alone and empty. For more than ten years, Rose shares a friendship with these souls, living their hopes and dreams, sharing their heartaches and happiness. Support from these friends, inspired Rose to write this story. This could be called a memoir, all but for one thing.

Posted 4:45pm July 15th, 2009Hello Rose,
What a fast moving, interesting account of how those of us who are computer "friendly" can make friends on line, while trying to live with our lives. Sometimes we think we can't cope or no one else could possibly have as many problems or concerns as we, only to find there ARE others who need support. An excellent third book for Rose Lamatt.
Congratulations!

Posted 8:09pm July 11th, 2009Hi Rose,
You and I have some things in common.
My chat room I belonged to was like a family. They went through all my rough times with caregiving my mom, the raising of my son,the ups and downs of my day to day life.
We all shared our lives every night sometimes till the wee hours.
We also put together dinners at a local place called The Bombay Bicycle Club that was in Altamonte Springs Fl.
They came from as far away as Scottland,New York, Road Island the list goes on.I have some wonderful friends and I still go into my chat room, the friendships will go on and so will our sharing our lives.
We have celebrated births, cried over deaths and attended our friends funerals, laughed at jokes and just plain enjoyed each other for over eleven years now.
It's something how letters on a key board could bring such rewards.
Thanks for the friend invite...it's my pleasure to be your friend!
Sassy

Posted 12:16pm July 9th, 2009Good Morning, Rose!
I am brand new to GB & after reading your note to "Boomer" was curious about your mention of a sand hill crane at your feeder. I live in Florida where not long ago this bird was practically extinct and so the sight of one now is cause for "stop the car! grab the camera!" excitement. Last spring I was completely blown away to see a flock of nine in a pasture near Ocala, FL. The only other place I have seen them is in Montana. I'm just writing to ask if you live in either of these states and if you frequently see sand hill cranes where you are? Your note about your book was also interesting and sounds like something I'd enjoy reading. Thank you for posting! God bless you!
