Finding Romance...in the every day

Another Valentine’s Day rolls around, finding The Midlife Gals giving chocolates to each other.  My Valentine Man is still circling around me out there in the ether, totally unaware that he’s honing in on a Texas Tornado, a hearty handfull...a beautiful midlifer who’s learned all the ‘how-not-to’s’ of relationship conundrums.  When we’re both ready, we’ll appear to each other to relish this second act of our lives together.  The timing will be perfect.  So, I wait...not getting any younger, but compiling texture and trust.  Come on, handsome!

In the meanwhile, my cats give me unconditional love.  Of course, I have to clean their litter box every day, but what the hell...it’s a good trade off.  They sit on my lap and purrrrrr, smile at me after I’ve fed them some yummy treat and give me the occasional wink as if to say, “For a human, you’re not half bad.”  Hmmm, if I get those three things from a man,  I’ll be doing well, huh?

If The Bachelor picks Jillian, I’ll also be filled with hope that there IS justice in this world.  He was smart enough to get rid of Naomi, wasn’t he?  I’d be pretty pissed off, however, if he had secretly told me that I was THE ONE even as he ‘experiences’ an ‘overnight’ with the two remaining gals.  It would be like the Dad who tells each one of his precious daughters that she is his favorite.  Not fair, but it does up his ratings, right?

Look, bottom line is that I’m a Pisces woman, and we’re just in love with the notion of love.  We are the kind of dreamers who believe in the happily-ever-after.  We know that Rhett forgave Scarlet the very day after he told her that he didn’t give a damn.  We actually believe that monogamy exists, that someone will  court us, not only on Valentine’s Day but every day and that diamonds ARE a girl’s best friend.
