Relationships
This is the time of year when many of us take a few moments to slow down and give thanks for what we have. It's something that personally, I wish I did more often. I don't think it should take a date on a calendar to force me to take stock of my life, and tell the people in my life how much I love and appreciate them. But, it's a nice kick-in-the-pants to get that thought process started.
So, here we are … another Thanksgiving. And even though it sounds like a cliché, I really *do have a lot to be thankful for. First and foremost: my family and friends. I have an amazing community which includes my mother, father, brother, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles and so on and so on. They are so supportive of everything I do -- and I give thanks to each and every one of them. I have a great husband, and we've made it through the first 18 months of marriage. I know we'll make it many, many more years together.
I'm thankful for this job! I appreciate every day that I come into the office and get to hang out with Marc, Bill, Jackie, Jason and the rest of the gang. And I'm thankful for every day that that I go out of the office and meet people who exemplify the beliefs behind Growing Bolder.
I'm one of the younger people here on the site, but I can't tell you how inspired I get by hearing the stories of people who are going above and beyond what many expect of them. This week, I got to hang out with the Orlando Magic Silver Stars dance team. They're all 50+ but they made *me feel like getting out and dancing. And, as you may have seen from some of my other blogs, I am so inspired by people like Joe and Carol Neal and other triathletes I've met through GrowingBolder.com, I'm now starting to train for a triathlon of my own. So, a big thank you to ALL of you who are discovering new things about yourselves, and sharing them with people like me.
I'm thankful for my animals, for my health, for coffee and for good music. I'm thankful for the internet (what did we DO before it?) and I'm very thankful for the way the web is evolving. It's amazing what you can discover every day.
I am thankful for so much more, but I'll wrap things up for now. But I'd love to know -- what are *you thankful for this year?

Thanks so much for your postings! It's great to learn more about you both, and gives me even more reasons to be thankful for what I have, and what I can look forward to!

Posted 1:22pm November 21st, 2007Thanksgiving are different for me now. It is still a wonderful time of year but lifes changes make me thankful for different things. Except for my sister, most of my related family has passed on. Whats left is scattered geographically so it makes it difficult to see them now.
I am very thankful for the circle of friends I have now. As I age the impact that friends have is much greater. I have a great girlfriend who is very understanding. But most of all I am thankful for the love that those friends show me.

Posted 8:03am November 21st, 2007Every time I wake up and take a deep breath, I'm grateful. Since last years stroke episode ( imagine checking out at a hotel at 5:30 am in a distant city and not being able to coherently speak or come up with any communication abilities...but no worries...as my Monty Python heroes have said...'I got better !')
So many things I used to think were pretty important just peeled away to what really is...your family, your friends and doing what you really love to do.
With a great wife of 27 years, 4 really cool kids and supportive albeit really offbeat friends, all the rest is...well in Thanksgiving terms, gravy...
Love being part of the guru team. Lot's of cool stuff from everyone...more food for the brain!
Happy Thanksgiving ( every day) to all!

Posted 7:37am November 21st, 2007Like you, I am thankful for friends and family. I am thankful for my husband and best friend (we've been married 32+ years), I am thankful for my kids. And I am thankful for a day each year where the purpose is to elicit thanks from all of us. I love having a day where we focus on the good things in our lives.
