Apparently, that's what you have to eat to reach your goals ... at least, if your goals are to speed across Antarctica to the South Pole in record time!

GB Radio Show guest Ray Zahab is getting international attention for his trek -- take a look at what Fox News just posted on its Web site.

SYDNEY, Australia  "

A trio of Canadian adventurers said Friday they have set a new record for fastest trek across Antarctica to the South Pole, after suffering through whiteout conditions, temperatures as low as minus 40 " and a steady diet of deep-fried bacon and butter.

Ray Zahab said he and his teammates completed the 700-mile journey from Hercules Inlet on Antarctica's Ronne Ice Shelf to the South Pole in 33 days, 23 hours and 30 minutes, finally arriving Thursday.

"If you took a cloud, wrapped it around your head and then duct-taped it, that's what a whiteout is like," a weary yet animated Zahab, 39, of Chelsea, Quebec, told The Associated Press by satellite phone from Antarctica. "It was exhausting."

You can read the rest of that story here.

Ray used to be an unhealthy, unmotivated guy -- he says so himself! So what changed? He woke up and decided to kick his bad habits, becoming a spokesperson for important causes and healthy living. Now, he's an extreme athlete and ultra-marathoner who says he's also just a "regular guy."

Sure makes me want to get out there and try and live my dreams -- how about you? What would you like to accomplish in 2009?

Get my book Bridge Table published POD and pursue a marketing plan within my capabilities and budget, so that by 2010, a publisher will offer me a contract. No reason why I CAN'T do this, I know how, have navigated this process successfully once before--it's a matter of staying the course, daily focus. Which is why I don't even want to KNOW about the delights of twittering. I finally came to conclusion I am ADD--almost anything will distract me--why I'm blogging right now when I should be doing final manuscript tweaking!! I haven't a clue.
