Leading up to the 2008 Florida Senior Games State Championships, a check of the registration database found that 746 athletes, or 37%, of the total registration were 70 years or older.
Of the 2,028 athletes registered, 580 were between the age of 70 and 79. The database showed 157octogenarians. And seven athletes were 90 or over.
