BikeWeek 2008 disappointing to some but not those who made it
Well, what can I say - the usual ballyhoo about the weak turnout for BikeWeek 2008 started yesterday as local pundits, broadcasters, business owners & the like cried about lost fortunes from the absentees for this year's Grand Harley consortium. If everybody who was projected to show up (500 thousand bikesters) the outcries would be coming from homeowners, part-time residents, & other business owners complaining about the noise, the additional traffic & the inconvenience of having to deal with 1/2 a million people... Can't win - damned if they come & damned if they don't. I had a great time Met a lot of nice folks. Saw some very cool motorcycles & took pictures of everything I could, so you have a chance to 'visit' albeit vicariously thru my eyes. So, in the first of a multi-part post let me start off with three of my favorite images from BikeWeek 2008.

I don't know her name - but it's a great reason to go to BikeWeek (or any bike rally for that matter). The beautiful bikes are only surpassed in their magnificent allure by the even more beautiful women who ride them... She's pretty much got my vote for Ms BikeWeek

Look at the paint on that bad boy - I mean have you ever seen a more azure blue in your life?...
& the ghosts or goblins or whatever they are - totally awesome, even nightmarish. Absolutely beautiful paint & on a very slick ride - I think I've got several pics of this one in the archive to be posted on HARLEYWOOD.

Finally, last but not least - some freakin' excellent ink from Russell of Exile Cycles
in Los Angeles, CA. That is very nice inkwork & I intend to find out who the artist is for a future post.
There are at least another dozen pics of Russell in the archive & some over at BikeWeek.INFO
go check it out...

OK, that's about it for right now, got a bunch going on, but I'll post another piece later tonight or tomorrow.
Thanks for lookin' & as always - Thanks to ALL WHO CAME - WE LOVE YA! - COME BACK AGAIN.
Hope everyone had a safe ride home.
Blue Skies!
