When Growing Bolder CEO Marc Middleton and I got up in the wee hours of the morning to cover the 2008 Walt Disney World Half Marathon.

On that day, I remember feeling chills as the athletes crossed the finish line -- many of them in tears, celebrating with their hands in the air. Some of them had given everything they had, and fell down or got sick moments after the end of the race. All were smiling, even through the pain.

Much like my a-ha moment with triathlon (also while working for Growing Bolder -- notice a theme?!), I knew that day that I wanted to return to Disney as an athlete myself.

Tomorrow, that will happen. I am running the 2010 Walt Disney World Half Marathon. I can't wait to cross the finish line, get my medal, get my high-fives and know that I'm part of a fraternity of people who are willing to push their bodies and their spirits.
