I just got my new stove delivered today. It will probably take me a month to figure it out. Kinda like my radio in my car. I need to get the book out every time I need to set something on it.
I got one of the new Electrolux ranges with the glass top. It is all digital touch controls. And looks like the controls in the cockpit of a 747 with all the lights. When you first see it you wonder where the knobs are. It has a black panel in the front and you have to touch it to see the controls. I really wasn't prepared for the complexity of it. I thought it would be kind of like the buttons on my dishwasher. NOT. There are so many lights and buttons, I'm sure I won't ever use them all. But I love technical stuff so it will be a good challenge for me. Can't wait until Thanksgiving...It says: It cooks the perfect turkey! That is good to know.
I cooked my first meal tonight on it and it turned out pretty good. Fresh blackeyed peas and rice. My husband said the blackeyed peas were the best he ever had.

Posted 12:01pm April 11th, 2009I don't have a high tech stove, but mine does have a glass cook top. I never want to go back to an open burner stove. Cleaning the drip pan area of my old electric stove was a pain in the backside.

Posted 11:45am April 10th, 2009Hi Ann, nice story! I always wondered why those machines have all these buttons? And those nervwrecking beeps whenever they are done doing what it was they did?
Were those blackeyed peas suppose to be black eyed, or were they burnt? Just checking
