Donna Fargo Highway

On October 29, 2009, Donna Fargo's hometown of Mount Airy, NC dedicated a highway in her honor called, what else, the Donna Fargo Highway. Donna was in town for 4 days and I got to spend lots of time with her. Below are photos of the highway sign she got to take home with her and a photo of Donna and I at a luncheon at 308 Bistro in her honor. Also on the same day of the highway dedication they opened the Donna Fargo Exhibit at the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History.

Posted 10:16am December 20th, 2009Thank you Vannie. They sure took long enough to recognize her and Andy Griffith. I was surprised when I moved here there was not highway named for either Andy or Donna.

Posted 9:55am December 20th, 2009I think it is lovely and appropriate when a town recognizes its own. It is an ego boost for young people.
