I can feel it in the air

Mother's Day is undoubtedly one of my favorite holidays.  Ever since my sweet children were little, I would always love to see for just a day their level of appreciation for all I did.  To see their hand-made cards with misspelled, but loving words girdled by drawings of flowers or fish really instills a pleasure within that cannot be described.  Being a mother is amazing!
Perhaps my favorite Mother's Day was when my two little girls and boy were all around the age of 7.  They decided to cook me breakfast, but in secret.  They all woke up exceedingly early and went into the kitchen where they attempted to make waffles and toast.  (The waffles were woefully undercooked and the toast was as hard as a rock!)  As they brought the breakfast into my room, I was utterly astonished.  I was going to eat every bit of it.  However, when one of them tried to pour the syrup for me, it got all over my brand new comforter.  All of them were truly sorry and kept apologizing.  (Little did they know that nothing they did that day could truly make me angry-although I hardly ever was.)  We spent the rest of the day shopping for comforters; all of us laughing and enjoying ourselves.  The day was coming to a close and we hadn't found a good comforter, though.  The next morning when I woke up, my kids were walking into my room again.  This time, however, they weren't carrying a breakfast, but instead, an absolutely gorgeous comforter decorated with all the right colors.  When I asked them where they had gotten it, they told me that they had bought a plain white comforter and had decorated it themselves!  It was the best comforter I ever had.
For all you mothers out there, have a wonderful Mother's Day and enjoy seeing your wonderful children.  I know I will!

That is so sweet! Mother's Day was always one of my favorite holidays. I loved getting the handmade gifts from my kids.....but also the breakfast in bed.
