Thanksgiving Thoughts

Most people I know are enjoying a pretty good existence, yet many moan and groan about their current problems. A few of these are significant, but most fall into the category labeled, “That’s Life.” Here’s a piece of advice to the glass is half empty crowd: Keep your negativity to yourself. Nobody enjoys the company of a chronic complainer – especially, if you judge the problem to be of a frivolous nature. Further more, very few people care and a percentage of those people are glad to hear you are miserable, because it makes them feel better about themselves.

To get a better perspective, I suggest the following: 1) Visit a cemetery - the residents occupy the space underground an in spite of ALL your problems, you reside above ground. 2) On your next vacation to an exotic island, go to the poor section of town and see how the other side lives. 3) Spend some time in a hospital with ill children and observe how they cope with real misfortune.

I guarantee you that your financial problems won’t seem so severe, your bad knee won’t bother you as much, and you just might appreciate what you have and what is really important.
