FamilyMy sons who I described a little earlier are the greatest contribution that I've made in this world. I love them all and have always been supportive of what they wanted to do in their lives. I never told them what or who they should be. I am a praying mom and keep praying that they would marry Christian women. So far that has happened in two of my son's lives. With two sons married, I still am believing my other sons will find someone that will love and support them, honor them and encourage them.
My husband Terry is still trying to adjust to the new surroundings having lived in a very humid San Antonio, Texas. He loves the weather here and has found work much like what he did in Texas. Now, almost three years working as managers, the weather is finally agreeable. Winter time fluxuates with each year. Sometimes we'll have so much snow we don't know what to do not having the adequate machinery and other years like this year (2012) it has been mild but very cold.
Although we've managed for three years now, Terry is looking to move elsewhere. Still undecided but we have spent time in Page, Az where the winters are much milder. Last year it went down 30 below 0.
EducationI left Michigan in 1963 and finished my high school in Flagstaff, Arizona. Was in Honor Society, received a scholarship to the School of Nursing at the U of A in Tucson, Arizona. I left after a year and majored in Sociology. My grades were great but I still went back into nursing a second time, only to leave again to get married and raise four sons and a foster daughter Rosa.
I attended a Bible college through our church in Page, Arizona. I later entered a Graphic Design School in Mesa, Arizona, where I received an Associates Degree for Graphic Design. I was never placed after graduating. While living in Mesa, I tutored for Native American students and also taught art and music in alternative schools on the Pima Maricopa reservation.
When we moved to Holbrook, Arizona, my graphic design training was a waste. It was such a small town that the only position for a graphic designer was in the print shop. So I went to college again and this time to receive a certificate to substitute teach in the schools there and in Joseph City.
When we moved to Gallup, NM, I found work as a collector for a furniture store while maintaining the books for my husband's car repair business. I then worked at auto dealership as a collector and finally an administrative assistant at an internet provider. After being laid off, I assisted as a Level III instructor at an alternative high school but that didn't last long. I ended up in my current position as a manager.
I love to do research on the subjects that interest me, including music, new songs, current events, poetry sites, writing sites and photography sites. I keep track of the news especially world news.
I worked with an alternative school with kids that have been kicked out of school for violence, drugs or fowl language. I had opportunities to introduce music in my free time with voice and keyboard.
With the job as manager of a mobile home park, Terry and I have done a lot to improve the look, by painting, fixing and making sure the entrance is appealing with tons of flowering plants.
GoalsMy goal as a worship leader is to establish my worship team to be strong leaders and be knowledgeable in music and theory and worship songs and stay current with what God is saying to the churches today.
I also want to notate the several songs that the Lord has given me but can't find the right software, something easy to use and will print out music from my midi Roland.
I started working on my autobiography, something I began twenty years ago. It is a work in progress like so many other projects.
I am currently working on recording music that I've written over 40 years that needs to be notated and published and shared with the hurting, the lonely and those needing a touch of God.
People I'd like to meetChrisitan men and women that are involved in ministry or that have similar interests in music, poetry, writing, photography and have a passion for life. I love life and believe God wants us to shine for Him and make a difference wherever we are.
