For more than 30 years, Mark Pitstick has thought about, studied and investigated the existential questions that keep many of us awake at night. Why are we here? Is there an afterlife? Is there a God? If there is a God, why is there so much suffering in the world?
He researched holistic, scientific, religious and spiritual evidence in his quest for answers.
Now he's collected his compelling data in the documentary and book "Soul Proof."
Pitstick, who has spent decades training in and working in hospitals, mental health centers, and pastoral counseling settings, says he was motivated to seek out these answers after working with dying and suffering children. He said it was so heartbreaking to watch, particularly children who suffered at the hands of adults, and he realized he could either become callous or decide once and for all to make some sense of God.
He started meditating and visiting every church and spirtual center he could find. He attended seminars, he spent weeks working with psychiatrists and interviewed people everywhere about their experiences.
Pitstick shares what he's discovered about the possibility of an afterlife and what he believes now after compiling what he calls irrefutable evidence.

Posted 9:59am June 22nd, 2011Dear cmsalvaje, At the risk of offending Mr. Pitstick, I must say I agree with nearly everything you have said. We work VERY hard to find interesting and informative guests but every now and then we fall short of our own standards.
Our guests don't have to think like us or share our view of life but they do have to be credible and have the ability to offer something that is interesting and thought-provoking. We are not the kind of show that brings in someone that is controversial and then argues with them. Perhaps, that should have been our strategy on this one. When the interview was over we all commented that it wasn't up to our usual standards and like you we were left very unsatisfied.
Thanks for your feedback it is very much appreciated.

Posted 3:45am June 22nd, 2011Normally, I find the show entertaining, enjoyable and most always I learn something from the content. This interview/commentary however had me not enjoying your show and felt as if I were suffering through the program for the first time. I usually expect when some says that they have researched something that they put forth the effort and actually did the research instead of claiming the same snake oil salesman techniques, After listening to the program I felt slimy and uncomfortable for listening to it. His arguments were the same tired ones that have all been debunked and.or arent legitimate. As for him claiming that he studied and researched that there is no god or afterlife you could tell in his statements that he did no such thing and that most likely the indoctrination of his childhood had taken over. Like I said I love the show but if I wanted to go listen to someone selling snake oil I would turn the channel or go to church.
