Fast forward past her failed marriages to Lee Majors and Ryan O'Neal and some critically acclaimed TV movie roles, a bizarre 1997 appearance on the David Letterman Show, and a nude photo shoot in Playboy at the age of 50, all the way up to 2006.
There was not one adolescent male alive in the 1970s who did NOT have a poster of Farrah Fawcett in his room! She was about as popular as anyone could get.
This video is a quick look back to the beginning of her career. She focused on modeling and commercials before getting her big break in the TV series Charlie's Angels, with Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson.
Because it was three years ago that we first heard news that Charlie's favorite Angel was battling cancer. She underwent chemotherapy and surgery and was declared cancer free, but soon after, another malignant tumor was discovered. She set out to try to find alternative holistic therapies.
Fawcett died on June 25, 2009 at St. John’s Heath Center in Santa Monica, Calif. She was with longtime partner Ryan O'Neal, friend Alana Stewart and her doctor Lawrence Piro. She was 62 years old.
O'Neal remained an ardent supporter and good friend to the very end. He appeared with her in a documentary film that followed her during her search for an effective way to fight against her disease.
