Posted 11:39pm July 11th, 2009rolling with Rachel is FANTASTIC! If the young people would only be a forth of what she is the world would be a better place. We live in a lazy generation who won't even change their own oil much less learn about their car or anything else. The commet is way cool !! If you ever get to where you can't drive and you would want to sell Chariot please may I be the lucky one to make the purchase? Keep on Keep'n on You are a great IDOL/MENTOR!!!

Posted 10:58pm July 11th, 2009Rachel,
I love you! My car has nearly 200,000 miles on it and still going strong. A lot of people have told me to get rid of it. I feel like if I take good care of the car, it make go another 200,000. I hope I am as spry as you when I get your age. Thanks for the inspiration!

Posted 8:38pm July 10th, 2009Thanks to GB for the Rachel videos....had never heard of this site until today when someone forwarded the original Rachel flick.....Rachel for President! My Mom is 91 and still driving and working....her car is not quite that old though. Let's hear it for these American treasures like Rachel and Eleanor who know what it means to be proud citizens of the US of A and spunky enough to be examples to others!

PS to Rachel....if you ever drive to Arizona, stop in Fountain Hills....we'd love to take you to lunch!

Posted 3:19am July 10th, 2009Good for you, Rachel! Can't hold a candle to you. I'm only 83, vehicle is a 1999 Ford F-450 with only 199,000 on it and going strong. I don't carry firearms because crossing State and especially country borders can be bothersome. My home is smaller than yours, a 40-foot fifth-wheel trailer that we bought in 1991. I'm waiting for a bridge to Honolulu so it will make all 50 States (and a hunk of western Canada to the mouth of the Mckenzie River).
So, Hey! Good lookin', whatcha got cookin'? How's about cookin' somethin' up with me? (And it's been many a year since you heard that one!)

Posted 7:28pm July 9th, 2009You are way too cool Rachel! And darn smart too!
I'm a lot like you, I keep my auto files, warranties, etc. and I am right there beside the technician in the garage most of the time. I ask questions and keep learning. I've also helped my husband do engine repair work several times. Maybe by the time I reach your age, I'll be as smart as you. You are truly an inspiration.

Posted 2:32pm July 4th, 2009My husband and I honeymooned in 1965 in his mother's Comet Caleinte Convertable. It was yellow with tan ragtop and interior. I only wish the family had cared for that car as well as Rachel has cared for hers. They were beautiful and could run like a 'scalded dog'.
Thank you Rachael for the wonderful trip down memory lane.
