He can go from president of the United States to a football announcer in a matter of seconds. Frank Caliendo, one of the best celebrity impersonators, has gone from an Average Joe to a comedian with his own TV show in an instant.
A regular on the Late Show with David Letterman and MadTV, Caliendo now has his own home on network television. The comedian is the host of FrankTV, the sketch comedy show on TBS.
But success didn't come easy for Caliendo. Just four episodes into his new show, the infamous writers strike hit. But Caliendo, someone who's able to jump in and out of character, was able to handle the hardships.
Caliendo is a major sports fan and impersonates almost all announcers, but now, with the presidential election underway, his key impersonations are of Barack Obama and John McCain.
He talks with Growing Bolder about if his jokes upset the people he impersonates and if he has a favorite act.

Posted 10:26am September 8th, 2008I LOVE his Bill Climton commercials on TV. Looks just like him -- fat, with silver hair. Taks just like Slick Willie too!

Posted 3:23pm July 25th, 2008I saw Frank at the Improv on Church St. about six years ago. He was just hilarious, so much so that I went back the next night. I had the chance to meet and talk with him after the show. A very funny guy and a very nice man. If you like him, go see him in person. I love his impressions of John Madden, President Bush, Al Pacino and Jim Rome. Rack him!!! OUT!!!
