Seriously. It's a strange way to get people speaking about the unspeakable -- and it's working. When we heard about the giant 20-foot inflatable super colon, we had to check it out. And now we're talking about it. Mission accomplished.

Thanks for sharing your story, Wild Irish Rose! I'm not sure why everyone is hesitant to talk about the colon either.  I had to have my first colonoscopy at 24 and you can imagine the blank stares and uncomfortable silences I got from my friends! Thankfully, everything was fine, but it really opened my eyes to the issues that can pop up with one of the most crucial parts of our bodies!

My colleague Katy wrote a great blog a while back about the importance of fiber in your diet. Click here to check it out! She even included some yummy recipes for fiber rich foods!

Thanks for your story, Wild Irish Rose!

I can not believe 584  views, and only one comment!..guess it is still a subject no one wants to talk about ,that is a real shame..so many lives could of been saved if we would wake up  ..Please explain to me if anyone can..why ?it is a part of our body, and I might add a very important part ..when someone ask me what kind of cancer did I have ,I tell them and they seem like they do not want to know any thing else, cancer is ugly no matter where you get it .for the life of me I can not understand why people can talk about breast cancer and do not have a problem with it .must be because it is talked about so often..if talking about our colon saves lives, well lets do it ..come on ,lets have some comments here..I know I am not the only one who had this!  thanks.. wildirishrose

Thank you so much for such a life saving idea,I am a colon survivor and there is not enough talk about this type of cancer,to me cancer is cancer no Mather what kind you have ,but why people do not want to hear about this type is beyond me,I guess it is different when it happens to you ..again thank you for this very important life saving information.. wildirishrose
