For five years, founding editor-in-chief of Experience Life magazine has been living by the motto "Healthy. Happy. For Real."

She says her magazine, with a readership of more than 600,000, tailors to its readers and follows her lifestyle ideals.

With the magazine section of a bookstore filled to the brim, Gerasimo says that compared to the sensationalism in the products, she tries to make Experience Life stand out like a sore thumb.

She talks with Growing Bolder about her intellectual hippie lifestyle filled with organic communes, alternative education and yoga.
